About the role:

The Health, Safety and Compliance Business Partners will play a key part in ensuring our workplace is safe, compliant with relevant regulations, and promoting a culture of health and safety across the organisation.

Specifically, the functions of this position are to support the Health, Safety and Quality Manager and advise on safety regulations, conduct audits, develop policies, deliver training, and ensure compliance with legal standards to create a safe work environment.

This will require the Health, Safety and Compliance Business Partners to work proactively with Managers, Staff, Ministries, Auditors, Health and Safety Representatives and Committees, Unions, and others to embed a health, safety, security, and well-being culture throughout the organisation and into all operational activities.

About You: 

You are a health and safety and/or compliance subject matter expert who takes pride in your work and in making a difference. You achieve this by establishing effective relationships based on trust and respect - you see your role as an enabler. You are effective working at the operation sharp end of the organisation, and you are capable of tailoring your written and verbal communications whoever the audience may be. 

To be successful you will have:

· a tertiary qualification in health and safety and/or compliance
· a minimum of 4 years’ experience in health and safety and/or compliance fields
· in-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and/or compliance standards
· skills in risk identification, management, and mitigation
· strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage and influence people at all levels
· ability to research, develop and draft a variety of documents to a very high standard
· ability to develop and deliver training and presentations
· excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
· experience with ISO standards and regulatory frameworks
· positive “can do” attitude
· demonstrated commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te reo Māori.
