About the Role:

Supporting people in the Horowhenua Region to achieve their goals and aspirations, through enabling independence and providing support where needed. Each client will require an individualised level of support and care requirements, and you may support them with any of the following.

  • Personal Cares and/or Basic Home Management 
  • Medication Administration and/or Monitoring
  • Grocery Shopping and/or Meal Preparation
  • Community Engagement and Socialisation
  • Support and/or Advocacy to Appointments
  • Helping people achieve their Goals and Aspirations 


The Position - This position is part time working 38 hours per fortnight - plus the ability to extend hours in the future!

Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 9am - 1pm & Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 5.30pm - 6.30pm

Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 9am - 1pm, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 5.30pm - 6.30pm & Saturday, Sunday 11am - 2pm & 5.30pm - 6.30pm

On Call: As Rostered (with paid retainer) - no more than 7 nights per fortnight


Skills and Experience:


  • Lived or work experience caring for others
  • A passion for people, be patient, friendly and kind
  • The ability to understand, communicate and connect with a variety of people and their whanau
  • Professionalism, honesty, and be a reliable team player with a flexible approach
  • Full NZ Driver License and reliable personal transport
  • Willingness to work every second weekend and flexibility to cover shifts by agreement 
  • The right to work in New Zealand
  • A NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing or commitment to working towards a qualification funded by MASH Trust   
  • An understanding of Enabling Good Lives principles and Whanau Ora is advantageous
