 We are excited to be establishing a new home in Whanganui supporting one young man to live a fulfilling and positive life.  

We are looking for people who are empathetic, passionate support workers. 

You will be part of a small team who are passionate about providing care, warmth and kindness to those who live and work in the home. The team will be providing a safe home environment where a young man can learn new skills, independence, build friendships and community connections. You will be 'their person' to support them.

Positions and Hours:

Position One: 80 hours per fortnight
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 11pm until 7am the following day
Week 2: Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 11pm until 7am the following day


Position Two: 32 hours per fortnight
Week 1: Thursday 11pm until 7am the following day
Week 2: Monday, Saturday and Sunday 11pm until 7 am the following day


To be the right fit for this team you bring:

  • Experience working with intellectual disabilities and complex behaviours
  • High emotional resilience with the ability to work well under pressure and in unpredictable situations, staying patient and calm.
  • The ability to understand and connect with people who have communication challenges
  • Professionalism, honesty and be a reliable team player with a flexible approach
  • Comfortable with personal care tasks such as toileting and hygiene support, as well as being comfortable with physical proximity
  • Energy, enthusiasm and enjoy being part of a team
  • Full NZ Driver Licence as part of your role will be driving 
  • A NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing or commitment to working towards a qualification funded by MASH
