Can you support a karaoke-loving, creative, beach-living young woman who values friendship, independence, and living life her way.
We're looking for a calm, patient, and positive person to join our team in working alongside a young woman living independently in Waitārere Beach.
She has a fantastic sense of humour, loves spending time with friends, and enjoys having a laugh with the people around her. She's independent,
strong-willed, and knows exactly what she likes and doesn't like.

Her interests include:

  • Singing karaoke with friends
  • Creating beaded masterpieces
  • Swimming and community activities
  • Going to the movies
  • Visiting the local shop and getting out and about
  • Enjoying life at the beach

No two days are the same, but every day is an opportunity to support someone to live a meaningful life filled with choice, connection, and independence.

What does great support look like?

For this young woman, support works best when it is:

  • Focused on encouragement rather than pressure
  • Consistent and reliable
  • Calm during challenging moments

She likes knowing who is supporting her and what the plan is for the day or week ahead. Changes can sometimes create anxiety, so having someone who can remain patient, adaptable, and reassuring is important.

Who would be a great fit?

This role would suit someone who:

  • Enjoys building genuine relationships
  • Can provide structured, teaching-based support
  • Remains calm under pressure
  • Is confident in setting boundaries while maintaining a warm approach
  • Has experience in teaching, education, coaching, behavioral support, disability support, or a related field

Most importantly, you're someone who sees potential, celebrates progress, and understands that meaningful support starts with connection.

The Role: Two Permanent Part-Time Roles | 20 Hours per Fortnight

As a Support Worker, you'll walk alongside someone in their day-to-day life, supporting them to build skills, achieve goals, access their community, maintain relationships, and continue living as independently as possible.

The most important qualification?

You must have a full licence and own vehicle.  A good sense of humour, a calm approach and the ability to be a positive, consistent presence in someone's life. The rest, alongside our young lady we can help you learn.

When you join MASH Trust, you'll benefit from:

  • Competitive Compensation:  Earn between $24.00 - $29.70 per hour, based on your qualifications
  • Part-time:  20 hours per fortnight
  • Rewarding Work:  Make a positive difference in the lives of the people you support and contribute to the wider community.
  • Comprehensive Training and Development:  We're a learning organisation committed to your growth. • Career Advancement:  Opportunities for career growth and advancement within our organisation
  • Supportive Environment:  Enjoy an excellent working environment with a strong, collaborative team atmosphere where we empower each other.
  • Wellness Benefits:  Receive a free yearly flu vaccination to support your health, comprehensive EAP services, additional MASH Day and long service leave starting from 5 years.
