About the Role: Full-Time Permanent POOL Position

We are looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join our Disability Residential team in Havelock North in a full-time permanent pool position, working 80 hours per fortnight.

As a POOL staff member, you'll play an important role in ensuring continuity of support by covering staffing gaps due to annual leave and trainings.

You will provide person-centred support to people with disabilities, helping them with everyday activities, personal care, building independence and participating in their community.

While your shift pattern may vary depending on the needs of the service, you will receive your schedule of 80 hours at least four weeks in advance.

Flexibility is key for this role, as you must be available to work AM, PM and Wake over shifts, including weekdays and weekends.


Skills and Experience:

  • A Passion for Tāngata/People: Be patient, friendly and kind, with the ability to understand, communicate and genuinely connect with people.
  • Experience: A minimum of 12 months' experience working in the health sector.
  • Empathy & Understanding: An understanding of Enabling Good Lives principles.
  • Team Player: A professional, honest and reliable team player with a flexible mindset.
  • Practical Skills: The ability to carry out personal cares, including showering and dressing, and confidence in the kitchen.
  • Driver Licence: A full NZ Driver Licence is essential, as driving a MASH van will be part of your role.
  • Relevant Qualification (or commitment to obtain): A NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing or a commitment to working towards this qualification, which will be funded by MASH Trust if you meet the set criteria.
