About Us

We run a vibrant, community-focused vocational service in Lower Hutt. We help adults with intellectual and physical disabilities build life skills, make friends and enjoy fun social activities. We value inclusion, respect and community connection.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Support Worker to join our Living Plus team in a full-time, fixed-term position covering parental leave.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8am–4:30pm, totalling 80 hours per fortnight. This position runs from January 2027 to September 2027.

Your Day-to-Day

As a Support Worker in our vocational service, you will help the people we support take part in daily activities, creative projects and local outings.

You will:

  • Use your personal interests and talents to introduce new, engaging hobbies.
  • Support people in group or one-to-one activities, such as art, cooking and music.
  • Help plan and join community outings and events.
  • Assist with personal care and daily needs with dignity and respect.
  • Build positive relationships with the people we support and their families/whānau.

What We Need From You

  • A caring, patient and positive attitude.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • A full driver licence, preferred for community transport.
  • Experience or a strong interest in supporting people with disabilities. Previous experience is not essential—we provide full training.
