MASH Trust is a leading provider of support services for people with disabilities, mental health and addiction challenges, youth respite care and homelessness. We support people in their own homes, within MASH Homes, and in the community.

Operating throughout the lower North Island in Wellington, Kapiti, Horowhenua, Palmerston North, Hawkes Bay, and Whanganui, MASH Trust has over 550 dedicated staff and volunteers.

The Role: Based in Palmerston North and reporting to the National Manager – Mental Health Community and AOD, this role is all about maintaining seamless support to your team and service operations. Your focus will be on ensuring the delivery of quality services and continuous improvement in support services. You will motivate your team, ensuring they feel valued, challenged, and fulfilled in their roles, contributing to our mission of providing exceptional care to the people we support and enabling them to live good lives. 

You will manage an exciting portfolio of Community Mental Health services, including LUCK, our community venue that extends practical support and social connection to a wide range of people in our community, including those experiencing homelessness. You be able to build positive relationships with multiple funders of our services including the Ministry of Social Development, Te Whatu Ora and Palmerston North City Council.

The Hours: This position is full-time and permanent, working 80 hours per fortnight.


 About You:

  • Knowledge of the NZ health sector and social services.
  • Lead and motivate staff to enable great lives and enhance the recovery of the people we support.
  • Strong person-centered and recovery-orientated approach to service delivery.
  • Proven track record in building, maintaining, and influencing relationships and partnerships.

In addition, you will:

  • Have relevant knowledge, skills, experience, or qualifications related to the establishment, growth, and delivery of new services.
  • Have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with a range of audiences.
  • Have the ability to collaborate across departments to achieve business outcomes.
  • Have previous success in developing and implementing operational plans and initiatives.
  • Show resilience in overcoming challenges and setbacks as you work towards continuous improvement in your services.
