The Position: 

As a POOL staff member, you will be working and covering all of the gaps that we have available due to annual leave and training. This position means your shift pattern may change from week to week, but you are provided your schedule of 80 hours, at least a fortnight in advance.  

You must be available to work both AM and PM shifts, weekdays, and weekends.    

To be successful in this Home Coordinator position, you will mentor and inspire our team of support staff who assist people with disabilities so they can live in an environment that ensures their individual needs and aspirations are being met. Your day may include supporting people to plan day-to day-tasks, attending activities in the community, personal cares, domestic chores, or medication administration. 

You will be responsible for the smooth running of the home, ensuring the needs of others are met by maintaining a high standard of service. Your excellent communication skills and leadership capability will enable you to encourage your team to be successful in their role, providing them with the support and assistance that they need.   

The Hours:  This role will primarily be rostered Monday to Friday 6am-3pm however you may be required to be rostered on weekends, evenings, public holidays and overnights as required.


Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification however, a relevant Level 4 qualification within healthcare preferred 
  • Ability to travel throughout the Greater Wellington Region as required
  • Proven experience in successfully leading a team
  • A willingness to provide personal cares
  • Current full NZ driver license as you may be required to drive a 10-seater van as part of your day-to-day job 
  • To take pride in a healthy home environment – including cleaning, meal preparation and shopping
