We are seeking an experienced registered health professional to join our Palmerston North Team as a AOD Recovery Practitioner working in a permanent role Monday to Friday. 

This is a part time role in Tararua college, working 25 hours a week.
However, for the right person it could be a full-time role split between Tararua college and the Monarch program in Palmerston North 


Skills and Experience:

  • Hold a registration under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance (HPCA) Act or have a recognised qualification with a current registration and annual practicing certificate. (Social Work - Dapaanz - Psychology)
  • Working towards a relevant degree and obtaining DAPAANZ Registration Follow the principals of Enabling Good Lives and Whanau Ora.
  • Be culturally responsive, and honour Te Tiriti principals of Rangatiratanga.
  • Have a good sense of humour.
  • Provide comprehensive clinical assessments and deliver tailored therapeutic interventions
  • Experience working in the mental health and addictions sector or a relatable field with an understanding of professional boundaries and practice ethics.
  • Understanding of group dynamics and be confident and have experience in group facilitation ability to facilitate therapeutic groups.
  • Have a thorough understanding and ability to apply motivational interviewing techniques and various counselling modalities.
