We have services throughout the lower North Island with over 550 staff and volunteers. We work as one team, empowering each other to promote community inclusion and self-determination for those we walk alongside.
We are seeking an experienced registered health professional to join our Palmerston North Team as a AOD Recovery Practitioner working in a permanent role Monday to Friday.
This is a part time role in Tararua college, working 25 hours a week.
However, for the right person it could be a full-time role split between Tararua college and the Monarch program in Palmerston North
Skills and Experience:
- Hold a registration under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance (HPCA) Act or have a recognised qualification with a current registration and annual practicing certificate. (Social Work - Dapaanz - Psychology)
- Working towards a relevant degree and obtaining DAPAANZ Registration Follow the principals of Enabling Good Lives and Whanau Ora.
- Be culturally responsive, and honour Te Tiriti principals of Rangatiratanga.
- Have a good sense of humour.
- Provide comprehensive clinical assessments and deliver tailored therapeutic interventions
- Experience working in the mental health and addictions sector or a relatable field with an understanding of professional boundaries and practice ethics.
- Understanding of group dynamics and be confident and have experience in group facilitation ability to facilitate therapeutic groups.
- Have a thorough understanding and ability to apply motivational interviewing techniques and various counselling modalities.
